·Whit nouns when we are talking about something specific. If nouns is mentioned for a second time or is alredy known.

·We can answer the question "who" or "what"

·With nouns which are unique.

Exe: the earth, the sky, the sun, the Parthenon, the Taj mahal.

·Before the names  of rivers, seas, oceans, mountaing ranges, desert and groups of island or startes.

Exe: the Nile, the Meditarrean, the Atlantic, the Alps, the Sahara, the Bahamas, the USA.

·Before the names of musical instruments 

Exe: the piano, the guitar, the violin.

·Before nationalities and name of families 

Exe: the Chinese, the italians, the Simpsoms

·Before the words mornings, afternoon and evening.

Exe. I go to school in the morning.

·With plural nouns when we talk about them in general.

·Before proper nouns

·Before name of meals and games or sports
Exe:

·Whit the words this-that-these-those.
Exe: This car, those bicycles.

.With the words school, church, bed, hospital, prision, home when we refer to the purpose of wich they exist.
Exe:
